Musical Canvas II: Water debuts at the historic Unity Hall in Barneveld, NY, on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. This multimedia performance, featuring pianist Tina Toglia and visual artist Mary P. Murphy, will immerse viewers in the artists' interpretations of our regional waters. Tina will perform pieces on the piano, including the world premiere of Blue Mountain Lake Suite by Jane Kozhevnikova, alongside works by Beach, Dagincourt, Debussy, Einaudi, Liszt, Mendelssohn, Nazaykinskaya, Offenbach, and Riopy. Mary will paint live and share videos in harmony with the music.

The first collaboration between Tina and Mary, Of Time & Place: A Musical Canvas, debuted in January 2024 at Munson, the fine art museum in Utica, NY. Unity Hall hosted an encore performance in June 2024. Reflecting on the event, visual artist Martha Deming remarked, “Now, more than ever, when I look at a painting, I hear music; and when I hear music, I see brushstrokes and colors in my mind... Your event bonded the two art forms forever in my thoughts. It adds a whole new dimension to 'en plein air.'"

Tickets for this performance are $15 for Unity Hall members, $20 for non-members, and $10 for students and are available through Humanitix. Tickets the day of the event, if available, will go on sale at the Unity Hall box office at 2:15pm

We simulcast events to the 1st floor from tour upstairs theater for those unable to climb the stairs. Easy access to the Hall is available through the wide door adjacent to our rear parking lot.
